The Task Force Committee meeting, chaired by the Collector, held at Podupu Bhavan here on Thursday, discussed the conduct of pulse polio immunisation programme on April 2 in the district with the officials of health department. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector ordered the officials to conduct the programme successfully in the
district involving the people coordinating with other departments.As the district is lagging behind in literacy rate, people lack awareness on administering pulse polio drops to their children of below five years of age. Keeping this in mind, the officials must consider this programme as a special one and must make it successful by giving wide publicity to get rid of the polio from the district, he said.
District Medical and Health Officer Dr Rajesham said that all necessary steps were taken for organising the pulse polio programme successfully in the district on April 2 by supplying sufficient quantities of vaccine to all Primary Health Centres. District Revenue Officer Shyam Prasad Lal, Rural Development Officer Panduranga and District Immunisation Officer Aruna were also present along with others.
