Bhupalpally stands 2nd in paddy production
Bhupalpally district has stood at second place in the state in paddy procurement during 2017-18 Khariff season, informed the joint collector D Amoy Kumar.
Jayashanker Bhupalpally: Bhupalpally district has stood at second place in the state in paddy procurement during 2017-18 Khariff season, informed the joint collector D Amoy Kumar.
He said 188579.48 metric tonnes of paddy procured by March 28 through a total of 189 procurement centres which include 65 IKPs and 98 PACS. The paddy was sent to different districts, besides the mills in Bhupalpally district, for the purpose of custom milling of rice (CMR).
Amoy Kumar speaking to presspersons here on Thursday said that Rs 278. 26 crores have to be paid to 39,158 farmers from whom the paddy was procured. So far an amount of Rs269.2 crore was paid to 38,287 farmers. Rs 9.24 crore were due to be paid to 871 farmers, he added.
The Joint Collector appreciated the civil supplies district manager Ravinder and the district civil supplies officer Rajaram for their efforts in procuring 1.88 lakh metric tonnes of paddy to make the district stand at second place. Nizamabad district stood at first place with the procurement of 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.
