​Jangaon: NIT Warangal Director Prof GRC Reddy stressed on the need of real time industrial training for engineering students to sharpen their subject knowledge.

He said industrial training would help the students to acquire information on latest trends in the field and it boosts their employability. Explaining the importance of taking part in innovation projects, he told students to make it a habit to present papers at seminars and symposiums.

The NIT-W Director on Friday took part in the two-day 12th national-level technical symposium organised at the town-based Christu Jyoti Institute of Technology and Science (CJITS). Addressing the students, he suggested innovations should be part of curriculum.

He appreciated technical exhibits displayed by the students and asked the students to be part of digital India initiative being promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by designing innovative projects in the field.

The College Director, Father T Augustine Reddy, informed that more 2,500 students were participating in the event and 200 students were from colleges in other states. The college management has been focusing on all round development of the students, who were from rural background and to make them to industry ready.

The Principal S Chandrashekar Reddy, the event convener G Sunil and co-convener B Santosh Kumar and others were present. Projects smart city, floating bridge, Life App for security of women and girls, cyber security, advanced GPS, power generation from wastage and daily garbage were among those presented by the students.
