Kothagudem: Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Friday laid foundation stone for various developmental works in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister assured highway facility to every remote village and added that he would strive for setting up of a Degree college in Aswaraopet. Tummala handed over cheques worth Rs 8.16 lakh to 16 beneficiaries under Kalyana Lakshmi scheme.

He said the ground water level increased after implementation of Mission Kakatiya project. On the day, the Minister inspected the construction works of palm oil factory at Apparaopet and made it clear that income earned through the factory would be handed over to farmers.

District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu said the government has sanctioned as many as 75 Gurukul schools in order to provide quality education to SC, ST and BC students.

Aswaraopet MLA Thati Venkateswarlu and ZP Chairperson Gadipalli Kavitha too spoke on the occasion. RDO Ravindranath, MPP Venkamma, ZPTC member Sarojini, ZP CEO Nagesh and others were present.
