The temple town of Bhadradchalam is all decked up for the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita on Wednesday. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will present silk clothes and Muthyala Talambralu at 10.30 am on behalf of the government, while wedding will take place in the afternoon. 

Bhadrachalam: The temple town of Bhadradchalam is all decked up for the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita on Wednesday. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will present silk clothes and Muthyala Talambralu at 10.30 am on behalf of the government, while wedding will take place in the afternoon.

Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, State Ministers A Indrakaran Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Parliamentary Secretary Jalagam Venkat Rao, besides several legislators are expected to attend the wedding.

Already devotees in large numbers, not only from Telangana but also from neighbouring States, have reached the town to witness the wedding at the Mithila Stadium where the arrangements have been wrapped by the district administration.

District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu told The Hans India that all arrangements, including water supply through taps and NGOs, and sanitation to make the stay of the devotees pleasant have been completed. Keeping in view of summer, ORS packets would be distributed to the gathering, he said.

Meanwhile, 500 police personnel were deployed in and around the town for scurity, SP Ambar Kishore Jha told The Hans India. The police contingent comprises two ASPs, 14 DSPs, 50 CIs, 150 SIs, 241 ASIs/head constables, 18 special party teams, 12 CRPF battalions.

The SP stated that security by putting in place special parties was being arranged for Chief Minister. Steps were being taken to ensure that vehicles of VIPs and devotees were parked in the allotted areas. Temple EO T Ramesh Babu said special queue lines for darshan and special counters for collecting free Talambralu have been arranged for the benefit of devotees.

Devotees who thronged Bhadradri from various areas of the State had holy bath in the Godavari on Tuesday. Later, they had the Lord’s darshan. The process of Kalyanam had begun on March 31 with the Vasantapaksha Brahmotsavalu on March 31. Ankurarpanam was conducted on April 2, followed by Dwajapata Bhadraka Mandala Lekhanam and Dwajarohanam on April 3.
