2017, barring a ‘Kaabil’ or a ‘Ghazi Attack’, has been mostly content wise disappointing. That is where April suddenly makes you feel exited. When you look at some of the releases that are mentioned below, it cannot get any bigger than this. Interestingly, it does not get any subtle too. Here are some movies that should make you probably count seconds to their release dates.

Will this april change the fortunes of Bollywood this year?

2017, barring a ‘Kaabil’ or a ‘Ghazi Attack’, has been mostly content wise disappointing. That is where April suddenly makes you feel exited. When you look at some of the releases that are mentioned below, it cannot get any bigger than this. Interestingly, it does not get any subtle too. Here are some movies that should make you probably count seconds to their release dates.

‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’
Sure everyone wants to know why Kattappa, that epitome of steadfast loyalty, killed his own master by practically back stabbing him. However, once the movie hits the screen, most in the audience would rather be worried that how will Mahendra Baahubali avenge the injustice done to his parents. How will he down a nemesis as shrewd and almost as invincible as the Rock of Gibraltar - Bhallaldeva. Trust me Kattappa’s question has taken centre stage but SS Rajamouli might get us back in the real content's grasp again. Add the fact that Indian cinema has not seen something half as gigantic and epic as the canvas of this movie since ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ makes this movie probably the best bet why April 2017 might actually become the benchmark month for blockbusters for years to come. Add the amazing background score, the well-crafted action scenes and this is one visual fest which no fan would want to miss in April.

Begum Jaan
You can write off Vidya Balan only at your own reputation’s cost. She brings what is called voltage to the screen. When she is on the screen you notice nothing else. It is probably cinema's biggest loss in India that she does limited number of roles or rather we don't have roles for her. Begum Jaan is a movie which might be a one-time watch only for Vidya and the amazing convincing acting skill she brings to the table. Add the plot of Begum Jaan and you find a content which is worth a visit. Not many are betting commercially on this movie but then that is what all underrated winners are all about. Begum Jaan only adds to the aura of April.

Noor
Sonakshi Sinha is a people's superstar. Most of her achievements have been discounted or scoffed at by the purists. However, you cannot take it away from her that in her own way she is attempting different strokes of acting ‘Lootera’, ‘Akira’ and now ‘Noor’ are the examples of her fine work. The reason ‘Noor’ could be the dark horse of April is because it is based on a bestseller book. ‘Noor's trailer has created a buzz. The way some have written this one off makes it another one which could surprise the pundits.

Maatr
Had she played her cards well Raveena Tandon could have easily been the queen of 1990s. She rejected pivotal roles in ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and ‘Dil Toh Pagal hai’. Yet she created an impact and mass following. Raveena is back with ‘Maatr’; a movie, which deals with our second most problematic issue after terrorism - women safety and also vigilante justice.

‘Maatr's trailer looks sincere. ‘Maatr’ is not rated as a looked forward to movie but given what Bollywood has dished out so far it could still be better.

These four movies are our best bet to wash away the pain of the boring high decibel releases like ‘Rangoon’ and ‘OK Jaanu’. April might be awesome with these four. Let’s hope.
