The members of Employees Provident Fund Staff Union have staged a ‘lunch-hour’ demonstration here on Monday seeking justice in cadre restructuring in the Employees Provident Fund Organisation.
Warangal: The members of Employees Provident Fund Staff Union have staged a ‘lunch-hour’ demonstration here on Monday seeking justice in cadre restructuring in the Employees Provident Fund Organisation.
The federation members have staged a dharna at Regional Provident Fund Office located at Dargah Road, Kazipet as part of their three-day nation-wide agitation launched on the day. The protesting employees wearing black badges and displaying placards shouted slogans in support of their various demands.
The EPF Staff Union Warangal unit vice-president Seshacharyulu, its secretary Samuel Jaya Kumar, treasurer Ajay Kumar, organising secretary Ramchander, leaders Jakaraiah, Sudarshan, Kumara Swamy and others participated in the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, they said they were staging protest in response to the call given by All India Employees’ Provident Fund Staff Federation secretary general, Rambabu Pendyala over the issues related to cadre restructuring, promotions, against reduction of posts and HR related issues.
They complained that despite assurances by the Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, discrimination was shown against the staff in Group B and C cadres in cadre restructuring.
Staff strength in respect of all cadres should be increased, not reduced; all the existing personnel have to be placed in higher scale immediately and additional posts should be created in B and C cadres, they demanded.
The protesting employees further demanded that every staff should be benefitted as per the decisions taken at the 215th Central Board of Trustees meeting held in Bengaluru. Inter-regional transfers and compassionate appointments should be finalised before implementation of cadre restructuring.
