Paddy floods Suryapet, Tirumalagiri agri markets
Agriculture market yards of Suryapet and Tirumalagiri witnessed huge inflows of paddy on Monday. According to official source, farmers brought as many as 1.50 lakh bags of paddy to Suryapet Agricultural Market Yard and 47,000 bags to Tirumalagiri market, which is double the capacity of the market.
Suryapet: Agriculture market yards of Suryapet and Tirumalagiri witnessed huge inflows of paddy on Monday. According to official source, farmers brought as many as 1.50 lakh bags of paddy to Suryapet Agricultural Market Yard and 47,000 bags to Tirumalagiri market, which is double the capacity of the market.
In view of huge inflows of paddy, both market committee chairmans Y Venkateshwarlu of Suryapet and Pasham Vijaya of Tirumalagiri announced holidays for next two days to markets to complete the purchasing process of the produce.
Meanwhile, officials of the market committees informed that two consecutive holidays, on April 8 and 9, lead to inflows of paddy on Monday.
Respective market committees made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of farmers and advised other farmers to maintain a gap of two to three days for the smooth purchasing of paddy at markets.
