Nalgonda: With temperatures touching 40 degrees Celsius mark and above, the operations in private and government organisations have been going on at a slow pace, especially between 12.30 pm and 4 pm.

According to Met officials in Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri districts, the mercury levels in coming days are expected to touch between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius.

Srinivas, a grocery shop owner of Suryapet, said he was forced to shut the shop between 1 pm and 4 pm due to unbearable heat.

As the temperatures have been on raise for the last 10 days in three districts, most of the employees in government offices are chucking their duties, especially in the afternoons.

An employee in Tahsildar’s office in Nalgonda, on condition of anonymity, informed that employees were leaving for lunch at 12.30 pm and returning only after 4 pm due to scorching temperatures.
