Hanamkonda: Union Minister of State for Road Transport Pon Radhakrishnan is scheduled to arrive here on April 13 to address a series of BJP workers’ meetings to be organised on the day.

In a bid to bolster the party at grassroots level in Warangal parliamentary constituency level, Bharatiya Janata Party is organising the meetings at Station Ghanpur, Warangal, Wardhannapet and other places, informed the party Warangal Urban district president Rao Padma.

Radhakrishnan will hold a meeting with intellectuals at Hotel Haritha Kakatiya on the day. Speaking to presspersons in Hanamkonda on Tuesday along with the party state general secretary G Premender Reddy, Padma said BJP is focusing on emerging as a strong political alternative in Telangana by 2019 elections.

As part of which, booth-level meetings are planned across the State to guide the cadre in the direction. The people in the State are impressed with the NDA rule and are supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been working with the motto ‘Sab ka sath-sab ka vikas’, Padma said.

The TRS government on the other hand has been trying to divide the society in the name of Muslim reservations and thus creating unrest. The BJP will extensively campaign in the villages explaining the misdeeds of the state government, she added.

Premender Reddy accused the State government of diverting central funds. It is trying to gain political mileage without giving credit to the Centre. For instance to promote institutional deliveries at government hospitals, the Central government sanctioned Rs 6,000 crore and the TRS government is claiming the credit in the name of ‘KCR Kits’.

He demanded that the beneficiaries of housing scheme have to be selected through gram sabhas. The TRS government is trying to benefit the party cadre by involving district collectors and public representatives in selecting the beneficiaries.

Referring to the ongoing arrangements for the TRS plenary and public meeting, Premender Reddy alleged that official mechanism is forced to work as party cadre, besides making use of public money for the arrangements.

The BJP leaders complained that the TRS government has miserably failed to intervene and offer relief to distressed chilli farmers in Telangana. Even as the Centre released funds towards crop damage and compensation, the funds were not being used properly.

The party leaders V Sriramulu, Dr P Vijaychander Reddy, A Ashok Reddy and others were present.
