Karimnagar: Finance Minister Eatala Rajender said the government had sanctioned Rs 24 lakh for the construction of handloom building at Bommakal along with sanctioning Rs 13.65 crore for the societies. He laid foundation stone for the construction of the handloom products buildings at Bommakal mandal of Karimnagar on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister reiterated that the government was determined for the welfare of handloom workers. He advised the handloom workers not to take extreme step of ending their lives as the government waived off their loans.

The government was striving hard to uplift weaker sections in the State. It had issued as many as 350 GOs to solve 350 different kinds of problems existing in the State, the Minister added.

MLA Gangula Kamalakar requested the officials and people’s representatives to wear handloom clothes on every Friday to support and save the handloom industry.

He assured the handloom workers that necessary steps would be taken so that every handloom worker will get minimum salary of Rs 15,000 per month along with sanctioning subsidy bank loans.

Minority Corporation Chairman Akbar Hussain, handloom society president Chandramouli, Bommakal ZPTC, MPP, MPTC and Sarpanch were also present along with others.
