KTR inaugurates Juki training centre
For the development of handloom and jute industry in the State, the government has allocated Rs 1,283 crores in the recent budget, which was 15 times more than the budget allocated in previous year, said IT Minister K T Rama Rao in Sircilla on Thursday. Rs 70 crores was allocated for handloom in previous budget, he pointed out.

Rs 70 crores was allocated for handloom in previous budget, he pointed out.
The Minister inaugurated Juki Sewing Machine Training Centre at the Textile Park in Barinepalli village of Tagallapalli mandal in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, K T Rama Rao said that the government was determined for the development of handloom and jute industry in the State.
Sircilla is famous for the production of better quality handloom clothes in the country. Observing this and to provide better employment opportunities to handloom workers the government started textile park in the district, he pointed.
The government is giving more preference to the textile industry present in the State by giving subsidies and by allocating more money in the budget for establishing more units. And for the production of readymade clothes the government has sanctioned Rs 30 crores for the establishment of Apparel Park in the district to provide self-employment opportunities to many families, who depend on handloom industry including women, the IT Minister elaborated.
He said that about 40 sewing machines were arranged at the Juki training centre and training will be given to about 200 women at the Juki training centre. He ordered the officials concerned to take necessary steps for arranging some more machines so that more women could be given training.
The IL&FS organisation of Tamil Nadu along with the State government will actively participate in the training programme in the Juki training centre, which is giving technical support to the Centre, Rama Rao said. He urged the women to utilise this opportunity and get the training.
SES Chairman Darnala Lakshma Reddy, District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, Joint Collector Yasmine Basha, District Revenue Officer Shyam Lal Prasad and the Additional Director of the Handloom & Textile department Srinivas Reddy were also present along with others.
