On the occasion 126th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Collector Krishna Bhaskar and Joint Collector Yasmine Basha inaugurated Digi Dhan Mela at Tahsildar's office in Sircilla town on Friday.

The Collector inspected various stalls set up on the occasion and inquired the representatives about Paytm. He asked the officials of various banks about the steps they have taken to motivate people to carry out cashless transactions.

Later addressing at an awareness meeting at Podupu Bhavan, the Collector D Krishna Bhaskar said in future all transactions would be carried through digital and online only. Hence youth and students should motivate their parents to carry out cashless transactions.

The people must follow certain rules while carrying out cashless transactions. The government was also taking necessary steps to prevent irregularities while carrying out cashless transactions, he said.

Of the total 131 crores population in the country, 71 crores are below the age group of 35 years, who can play vital role in motivating the people to carry out cashless transactions, the Collector observed.

Joint Collector Yasmine Basha said that several government and private organisations introduced various apps for carrying out cashless transactions as the technology is improved enormously in recent times.

To encourage cashless transactions, a nodal officer will be appointed for the 211 villages in the district along with taking necessary steps for carrying 100 per cent of cashless transactions in all villages with cooperation of people, she said.

Later the Collector along with Joint Collector Yasmine Basha presented prizes to the students, who won essay writing and elocution competitions organised on the occasion.

District Revenue Officer Shyam Prasad Lal, DRDO Project Director Hanumanth Rao, Manager of e-district Srinivas, SSA sectorial Officer Rajabhanu, MPDO Madhusudhan, MEO V Ramchander Rao and Bhupal Reddy were also present along with others.
