Hanamkonda: The ongoing membership drive by the TRS has been receiving unprecedented response from the public and number of enrollments might soon reach one crore, hoped Finance Minister E Rajender.

He said within a short time the number of enrollments has reached 75 lakh as the public has been enthusiastically coming forward to join the party at grassroots level. It indicates the trust the party has earned among the people in the State.

Eatala along with MLA D Vinay Bhasker, party district president T Ravinder Rao, TS Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman P Sudharshan Reddy and others has visited Prakashreddypet, the venue for the party’s April 27 public meeting in Warangal.

Speaking to presspersons after inspecting the arrangements, he said soon after formation of Telangana State and with TRS assuming power, many have doubted the efficacy of the party in ruling the State.

But now, the entire nation was looking towards Telangana as the welfare schemes being implemented by the State government were attracting them. The State has stood at number one position in the country in terms of public welfare, Rajender asserted.

“We proved our mettle as a party that fought for statehood cause and also as a party that is delivering its election promises. That is why the membership drive has become a huge success,” he explained.

Referring to the April 27 meeting, which will be addressed by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, as part of the party’s 16th Foundation Day, Eatala appealed the public to turn up in the manner they attend Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara.
