Luxettipet: Demanding allowance and security, the women beedi workers took out a massive rally from Market Yard to Tahsildar office in Luxettipet on Tuesday.
The leaders of the workers’ union urged the government to implement GO No: 41, which is aimed at the welfare of beedi workers.
They also asked the government to provide allowance of Rs 3,000 and accident insurance, to sanction double bedroom houses and to establishment of a new hospital.
Later the Leaders submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Tahsildar. Union leaders Bucchaiah, Shankar, Ashok, Ranjith Kumar, Tirumala, Ruchitha, Bhagya Laxmi, Kavitha, Ravi and Linganna and other workers took part in the rally.
