​Kothagudem: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao assured better compensation for the oustees of Sitarama project.

Speaking at a meeting held with officials of Revenue, Irrigation and Forest departments at the Collectorate here on Monday, the Ministers said 3,200 acres was acquired for the project so far as against the total requirement of 10,150 acres.

They asked the Irrigation department officials to complete the land acquisition process as early as possible and directed the officials concerned to send reports to Environment department, regarding permission for acquiring forest lands.

The Ministers further asked the revenue officials to constitute a land bank so that the welfare schemes to be implemented by the government wouldn’t get delayed. The duo directed the officials to complete the aqueduct works by May end.

“The State government took the project as a prestigious one. There isn’t any problem with funds for acquiring lands and people’s representatives should render help in land acquisition. People can reach out to Joint Collector in case of any queries regarding acquisition,” they added. They also enquired about the Mission Kakatiya works.

Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, ZP Chairperson Gadipalli Kavitha, Tribal Cooperative Finance Corporation Ltd (TRICOR) Chairman Thati Venkateswarlu, District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, Joint Collector Ram Kishan, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao, Wyra MLA Madhan lal, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijaya Babu, Irrigation CE Sudhakar and officials of various departments were present.
