Karimnagar: Reiterating the government’s commitment towards the growth of farming community in the State, Finance Minister Eatala Rajender stated that for the convenience of farmers the government has established grain purchasing centres across the State to purchase the produce by fixing minimum support price.

Addressing the media during a press meet held at R&B Guest House in Karimnagar on Tuesday, the Finance Minister said by supplying water through Yellampalli lifts, the government has taken necessary steps to prevent drying of crops in Choppadandi Constituency.

“Though 9,350 Mega Watts of electricity was consumed, the government still supplied nine hours of uninterrupted quality power to the farming community,” the Minister said.

Urging the farmers not to resort to distress sale, Eatala said the government was taking all necessary steps for the purchase of produce through IKP centres and markets.

“If necessary, more grain purchasing centres will be established and also facilities like drinking water, transport, gunny bags and others will be made available,” assured the Finance Minister.

Local MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Mayor Ravinder Singh and Deputy Mayor Ramesh also attended the press meet.
