As part of ‘Gulabi Coolie Dinalu’ from April 14 to 20, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Monday did labour work at Banswada market yard in Nizamabad district and earned Rs 2 lakhs.
Kamareddy: As part of ‘Gulabi Coolie Dinalu’ from April 14 to 20, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Monday did labour work at Banswada market yard in Nizamabad district and earned Rs 2 lakhs.
He offered work at the market yard in the town and sold rice to the customers besides carrying some bags. Rice Millers Association has offered a cheque for Rs 2 lakh to the Minister for his work on the occasion.
After launching a paddy purchase centre, the Minister said the TRS boss and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has asked them to work for the plenary and public meeting and get money to be spent for transportation and bringing public.
The Minister said that they are expecting 65 metric tonnes to 70 metric tonnes of yield this Yasangi season. Stating that there is no shortage for gunny bags, Pocharam said that 18 lakh metric tons of paddy was procured through 2,800 centres. The paddy so purchased will be shifted immediately to godowns and payments will be made to the farmers within 48 hours, he assured.
The minister lauded the Chief Minister for his decision to provide fertilisers free of cost to farmers. Describing the CM as pro-farmer, Pocharam thanked him on behalf of farmers. The Minister said as many as 55 lakh farmers would be benefited with the decision.
He handed over cheques to the beneficiaries of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak schemes. Muslims of Banswada constituency felicitated the Agriculture Minister as the government provided 12 per cent reservations to Muslims.
