Police arrest conmen duo, recover gold

Armur: The police on Monday arrested two persons for duping people under the guise of helping, said CI Sitha Ram and SI Santhosh.

On April 7, a couple hailing from Morthad, was waiting for bus when the accused approached them in a car and offered them lift to Armur. When they were about to reach the destination, the accused threatened the couple with a knife and looted them of their gold and other valuables.

The victims lodged complaint with police on April 7. During a routine vehicle check up, the police took them into custody and recovered gold from them. The police said the duo belongs to Mamidipalli and Venkateswara Colony.
