Hectic developmental activities are going on in the city with TRS leaders engaged in preparing the ground at Prakashreddypet, the venue for the party’s April 27 public meeting marking the party’s 16th foundation day and the government mechanism in giving a face-lift to the city junctions and roads.
It may be noted that the GWMC, KUDA and district administration have planned to develop the traffic junctions and road medians as part of the 'Heritage City’ and other central sponsored schemes, much ahead of the announcement of the schedule of the TRS public meeting here.
Now the works are being expedited in view of the public meeting.A total of 34 junctions are being developed under the first phase. GWMC and KUDA are developing 12 junctions, National Highways 14, roads and buildings department is developing eight junctions, KUDA planning officer E Ajith Reddy told The Hans India.
Similarly, government buildings and walls along the main roads are being painted with paintings involving artistes from different places as part of the city beautification works. As many as 12 places have been identified on Hyderabad road to paint Cherial 'Nakashi' art, images of the Pembarthi brassware and others.
Three flyovers at Kazipet, Kadipikonda and the one at CSR Gardens on Hunter Road are being decorated with paintings depicting culture and history Kakatiyas, history of tribal goddesses Sammakka-Sarakka. The walls of the Public Gardens are being painted with messages on importance of protection of environment, he explained.
The road medians are filled up with fresh soil to plant trees and grills are being put up and painted different shades to add colour to the main thoroughfares, besides developing traffic junctions in a similar manner.
Coming to the meeting venue, the public meeting arrangements in-charge P Sudharshan Reddy said they are going to set up nearly 120 mega LED screens on sprawling 300 acres of land allowing the public to have the glimpse of the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao and others on the dais.
The media committee conveners, M Yadava Reddy and Gudimalla Ravi Kumar informed that they would be live streaming the public meeting in Facebook and twitter periscope. So far one lakh posters, two lakh pamphlets are released besides conducting campaign with culture troupes and women groups in the villages, they said.
Transport committee convener Takkellapalli Ravinder Rao said they are holding meetings in the villages aiming to assess how many from respective villages are going to attend the meeting and number of vehicles needed. ‘Since there is huge response from public we are facing shortage of vehicles,’ he said.
