Warangal Urban: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Wednesday donned the role of a teacher and taught lessons to students at a private school in the city as part of ‘Gulabi Coolie Dinalu’ programme.

The programme which meant to raise funds for the TRS party plenary meeting on April 27, in Warangal, the Dy CM earned Rs 1 lakh. He taught Telugu Vyakaranam (grammar) to Class 10 students of Oasis High School. School chairman JN Paranjyohti paid Rs 1 lakh to the Dy CM.

Kadiyam, meanwhile, explained ‘Chandassu’ to the students with examples and with ‘Chandassu Chakram’ in an interactive mode, he asked students to identify ‘Utpalamala’ and ‘Champakamala’, the metrics used in Telugu poetry.

Speaking to media on the occasion, the Dy CM recalled his 11 years of service as a teacher in the past and said he was very happy to relive his teaching days. “Since I worked as teacher, I chose to raise funds by teaching and prepared for this class,” he said.

He further stated that Telugu was his favourite subject, adding “I used to top in the class in the subject and teach Telugu on self-governing day.” Later, amid cheers by students, he announced summer holidays for all the schools in the State to begin from Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the Dy.CM along with Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao visited Prakashreddypet where the arrangements for the TRS public meeting were going on. Speaking to media, Kadiyam said the developmental and welfare measures by the state government were inspiring many states.

Tummala said the Opposition parties were lacking leadership and no party political party in the state could face the TRS. Some political parties which were not able to digest the development of downtrodden were attributing religious colour to 12 per cent reservations offered to Muslims, he said.

Warangal MP P Dayakar, MLA V Sathish, TS Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman P Sudharshan Reddy, KUDA chairman M Yadava Reddy, Dy Mayor Khaja Sirajuddin, Media Committee Convener G Ravi Kumar, TRSV leader K Vasudeva Reddy and others were present.
