Warangal: Farm crisis is deepening with the successive governments turning a blind eye to the problems faced by the farmers, Rythu Sangham Warangal Rural district secretary Peddarapu Ramesh said.

Addressing a party meeting here on Friday, he stressed the need to address the deepening farm crisis in the State.

“Although the prices of all inputs have risen rapidly, the government never looked to ensure remunerative price to farmers’ produce.

As a result, agriculture is becoming more and more unviable,” Ramesh said, accusing the government of lending a deaf ear to the cries of peasants.

Instead of mitigating the farmers’ sufferings, the government aggravating the situation, he said referring to the administration’s failure to provide timely crop loans and crop loss compensation to farmers.

Stressing the need for exerting pressure on government, he called upon party cadres to gear up for agitations. P Babu, M Sailu, B Narsimha Redd, A Mallaiah and A Raju were among others present.
