Congress seeks white paper on TRS public meet, plenary expenditure
The district Congress president N Rajender Reddy has demanded the State government to release a white paper on the money spent on the TRS April 27th public meeting and its plenary.
Warangal: The district Congress president N Rajender Reddy has demanded the State government to release a white paper on the money spent on the TRS April 27th public meeting and its plenary.
He said hundreds of crores of rupees were being misused as the ruling party MLAs had given work to contractors without calling tenders to lay new roads on the passages leading to Prakashreddypet, the venue for the public meeting.
Speaking to presspersons, he also complained poor quality of works in laying roads and beautification of the city. The quality has been affected as the works were being executed overnight to meet the deadline of April 27.
Rajender Reddy further complained Marketing Minister T Harish Rao has been frequenting the city and camping for the past few days has found no time to visit chilli yard at Enumamula agriculture market and to look into the issues of protesting chilli farmers.
The Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, who spent nearly one hour with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding talks on various issues failed to mention the issue of chilli farmers. The CM should have asked the PM to intervene and ensure profitable price to chilli produce, Rajender Reddy noted.
Similarly, several promises made by KCR to the people in the district and city were not delivered. During 2014 elections, the CM promised to construct underground drainage in Warangal within three months if his party comes to power, three years passed by yet there was no progress in delivering the promise.
The party leaders P Veeraiah, K Srinivas Rao, N Srinivas, EV Srinivas Rao and others were present.
City Congress workers stage dharna at Fort Warangal
Meanwhile, GWCC working president Rajanala Srihari and others have staged a dharna wearing black badges at Fort Warangal on the day protesting over the State government’s negligent attitude in organising Kakatiya Festival.
Speaking to media, Srihari alleged that CM KCR who promised to conduct the festival celebrating Kakatiya heritage in grand manner every year has miserably failed to keep the promise. Even as three years passed since the TRS came to power, the festival was not conducted for once at least.
He reminded that during Congress regime Kakatiya festival was conducted for entire year by allocating huge funds.
