​Karimnagar: Joint Collector Badri Srinivas directed the officials to take necessary steps for enrolment of Aadhaar cards to children below five years age.

The JC chaired a review meeting with Child Development and Protection Officers (CDPOs), Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) and with the staff, who were operating permanent Aadhaar centres, to discuss Aadhaar enrolment at the Collectorate conference hall in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

Addressing the participants, Joint Collector Badri Srinivas said that for the first time in the district, Aadhaar enrolment will be done freely to children, between the age group of 0 to 5 years.

Certain fee will be charged to make changes in the Aadhaar cards in future. The JC ordered MEOs to take necessary steps for Aadhaar enrolment to students studying both in government and private schools in their respective mandals by encouraging the school managements.

Till date 85 per cent of Aadhaar enrolment was completed and the remaining 15 per cent must be completed by June 30, he ordered.

He directed CDPOs to take steps for Aadhaar enrolling of children, who goes to Anganwadi centres. By establishing Aadhaar enrolling centres in village panchayats, the supervisors of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) must supervise enrolment of Aadhaar cards, he advised.

District Welfare Officer Sarada, e-District Manager Srinivas Reddy and others were present at the meeting.
