TRS leaders hire 750 RTC buses to transport party workers to the venue

Warangal Urban: The commuters have suffered a lot with the TSRTC cancelling several rural and long-distance buses from different locations under Warangal region in the wake of TRS meeting here on Thursday.

As a result, large numbers of passengers were seen stranded at Hanamkonda, Warangal and other bus stations in the region. It was said that nearly 750 RTC buses were hired by the TRS party leaders to transport party workers to the venue of the meeting from different parts of erstwhile Warangal district.

“I am waiting here for the last two hours to catch a bus to reach Jangaon. But, I am unable find a bus. I am late for my work today,” rued a private employee K Satyanandam of Ramnagar in Hanamkonda. The same was the complaint of P Saraswathi, who was waiting for a bus to Palakurthy.

The RTC officials should have made alternative arrangements to meet the needs of the public, they said. It might be noted that the Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao have appealed to the public to put off their journeys on Thursday as they were going to hire buses for the public meeting.

Though majority of public heeded to the call by the Ministers, private employees and those who forced to make an urgent journey could not avoid the trouble of waiting at bus stations. Even the private vehicle like vans and auto-rickshaws were also in short for the public use on the day.

Similarly in Yadagirigutta, devotees of Yadadri temple faced hardships on Thursday as 100 out of 151 buses in the RTC depot were diverted to TRS Warangal meeting. The devotees who visited the temple and the residents here had to wait for at least four hours in the bus shelter for boarding a bus. They expressed anguish over the government.
