Hanamkonda: The district Congress leaders have taken serious exception to the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao’s use of un-parliamentary language, while referring to Congress and other Opposition party leaders.

The district Congress president N Rajender Reddy, former chief whip G Venkata Ramana Reddy and others have strongly condemned the CM’s abusive remarks and said it was unbecoming of a person of CM’s stature.

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, Ramana Reddy said KCR should have maintained decorum and decency when he refers to opposition parties. ‘What the CM spoke about Congress legislators and leaders at the Thursday’s TRS public meeting in Warangal, we leave to his judgment,’ he said.

He also found fault to the CM’s failure to pay homage Telangana martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of statehood. The TRS’ fall would begin from Warangal, which he often describes as a place known for political activism.

On the allegation that Congress leaders were halting irrigation projects, he said the 80 per cent works related to several irrigation projects launched during Congress regime were completed. But the TRS government delayed the works in the name of project redesigning.

The projects execution was also being handed to those close to the ruling TRS and CM’s family members. This was leading to misuse of crores of rupees of public money, Ramana Reddy complained.

He also disputed the CM’s assertion that Rs 4,000 per acre would suffice to procure fertilisers and seeds and said it requires nearly Rs 18,000 to Rs 40,000 to take up a crop in an acre as per the scale of finance announced by the government. But the CM has forgotten the fact.

Rajender Reddy noted that previous Congress governments have also supplied sheep, cattle and fish seeds to farmers and communities as an alternate source of income. The CM wants to divide the society in the name of castes and religion and rule.

He sought to know why the CM failed to mention about double bedroom houses, three acres land distribution to landless dalits, free KG to PG education programme during his address on Thursday.

City Congress leaders Rajanala Srihari and K Srinivasa Rao, ex-MLA P Veeraiah, TPCC secretaries EV Srinivasa Rao, B Srinivasa Rao, GWMC councillors J Rama, L Mounika and T Raju, senior leaders J Raghava Reddy, N Laxma Reddy and frontal organisation leaders were present.
