Hanamkonda: Education is meant for character building and the students should make efforts in that direction during their time in the institutions, suggested a senior scientist from DMRL Hyderabad, G Madhusudhan Reddy.

During education, test and evaluation is very important. Science is about knowing things and engineering is about execution. Engineers will give solution for complex problems for this a student have to obtain analytical and creative skills are required, he said. Madhusudhan Reddy addressed a gathering of students and faculty at the ‘Annual Graduation Day-2017’ Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW) here on Friday.

The managing director of Vasantha Tool Crafts, Hyderabad, A Dayananda Reddy, an alumnus of KITSW, said that there is a large difference between way of thinking in students present and past. During 1980s for students survival was very important but now the entire world is in their hands and they should use it in a right way.

He advised the students to decide their goals and put efforts continuously to achieve them and become a good engineer. There are huge opportunities are waiting to be grabbed and those with talent there have to make use of them.

KITSW executive member V Vishwanatha Rao suggested that life style modification is very important for a student to excel. The college director Prof Y Manohar said the students at the institute are being trained in soft skills, technical skills, leadership qualities from beginning of the first year.

Focus is being laid on making the students technically superior and ethically strong. During academic year 2015-16 nearly 200 research papers published in international and national journals by the students, the director said. The college principal Prof P Venkateswara Rao informed that KITSW has 20 MoUs with multinational companies.

Dean academic affairs Prof C Venkatesh, associate dean Raghu Ram, deans and HODs of different departments, students and parents were present.
