Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (Polycet) 2017 was held on Friday. The Government Polytechnic College principal and Polycet coordinator M Sheshagiri Rao said that out of 7945 candidates who had applied for the Polycet examination, 7568 candidates were present with an average of 95.25 per cent, and 377 candidates were absent.

The Government Polytechnic College principal and Polycet coordinator M Sheshagiri Rao said that out of 7945 candidates who had applied for the Polycet examination, 7568 candidates were present with an average of 95.25 per cent, and 377 candidates were absent.

Rao said that the entrance text went off peacefully at 14 centres with no untoward incident reported in the city. Rao said that 5455 boys and 2490 girls were present for the Polycet examination. He said that candidates who came late by one minute were allowed to write the offline test.

He said that people from the technical board were deployed as squad of the entrance test. Andhra Pradesh technical education director GS Panda Das along with Deputy Tahsildar T Madhavi visited a few examination centres and inspected the proceedings of the examination in the city.

He further said that women polytechnic Machilipatnam principal and Special Observer Dr PS Nagu visited the examination centres in the city.

Section 144 was imposed at all the 14 examination centres for the smooth conduct of the examination. He said that the results would be announced within 10 days in the second week of May.
