Railway Institute begins summer sports coaching camp

Krishna District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) Md Sirazuddhin inaugurated summer sports coaching camps at Railway Colony playground in Satyanarayanapuram (STPM) here on Friday. About 150 children attended the summer coaching camps.

Satyanarayanapuram Railway Institute Managing Committee is holding the summer coaching camps in Kabaddi, Football, Ball Badminton and Sepak Takraw.

With the support of South Central Railway Sports Association and the District Sports Authority, the Railway Institute is organising the camps.

Speaking on the occasion, Sirazuddhin said that sports and games were part of education and every student should get trained at least in one discipline. The state government was giving top priority to sports and games, he said.

Students and youth should use these summer sports camps which were being held at various places in the city, he added.

Vijayawada Division Railway Sports Welfare Inspector and former international Kabaddi player N Arjuna Rao, STPM Railway Institute secretary SK Kareem Bhasha, Krishna District Kabaddi Association secretary Y Srikanth, Ball Badminton secretary Prasad, the association secretary S Ramesh and others participated.
