Dr Gullapalli N Rao felicitated
As part of the 26th annual award citation, Dr Gullapalli N Rao was felicitated in the city recently. The award was presented by The Yudhvir Foundation to Dr Rao for his services to the city.

He founded the LV Prasad Eye Institute in 1987 with the motto of conceived as not-for-profit, comprehensive eye care facility.
LV Prasad Eye Institute became the only institute in the world to perform over 2000 cornea transplant in a year. It has also performed 24,000 cornea transplants since its inception.
Speaking after the ceremony, Dr Rao said, "Every rural community in the country should get the benefit of the high quality, comprehensive idea and our hope is whatever model we have created till today can be replicated in other areas of medical care.”
“I believe we have brains, resources, systems, but India has the most health care problems and the most solutions to it, he said.
