Thunder showers lashed the temple town on Tuesday evening uprooting many trees, inundating many low-lying areas and disrupting power supply in many areas.
Bhadrachalam: Thunder showers lashed the temple town on Tuesday evening uprooting many trees, inundating many low-lying areas and disrupting power supply in many areas.
However, the showers brought respite to the people from the sweltering heat. Areas in the vicinity of the temple, Ashok Nagar, Kotha Colony and other adjoining areas were under rain water. Power supply was switched off as many trees were uprooted and fell on electric wires.
While police got the trees removed, TRANSCO officials rushed to the place along with the staff members and took steps to get the power supply restored.
In Santinagar Colony, power lines got snapped and were dangling dangerously. The locals made the place out of bounds for others by placing stones across the road.
