Karimnagar: After receiving complaints about liquor consumption, anti-social activities like playing cards, selling drugs etc in public places, the police conducted cordon and search operation in a few colonies in Karimnagar city on Tuesday.

Led by Police Commissioner V B Kamalasan Reddy, about 200 police personnel conducted cordon and search operation at Simhadri Colony, Swamy Colony and Shaikabi Colony of Rekurthi mandal under Kothapalli police station in the early hours of Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner of Police assured that necessary steps will be taken for intensifying patrolling in these colonies with Blue Colts teams to keep check on anti-social activities.

He suggested the colony people to install CCTV cameras to keep a check on illegal activities and to inform about scuh activities to the police immediately.

During the search operation, the police seized 30 two-wheelers, five autos, one car without proper documents and also gutka packets worth Rs 5,000.

Trainee IPS Dr Sangram Singh, G Patil, Rural ASP V Tirupati, Inspectors Shashidhar Reddy, Ch Ramesh and Karunakar have also participated in the cordon and search operations.
