Plans afoot to provide parking place in Warangal city

​Warangal: Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu and GWMC Commissioner Shruti Ojha on Tuesday conducted field inspections to create new parking zones in the city.
The inspection was taken up in order to initiate measures to address increasing scarcity for parking space and traffic congestion on the roads as vehicle owners were parking their vehicles on the roads on main thoroughfares.
The officials have visited Nakkalagutta, Kazipet junction, KUC junction, municipal land opposite Ashoka Hotel, Enugulagadda, Thousand Pillar Temple, Pochamma Maidan, Warangal Railway station and Siva Nagar.
It was proposed to make use of municipal land available backside Supraba Hotel and private land to create a parking space to address parking problem at Nakkalagutta area.
Similarly, efforts were being made to create parking space by levelling the land adjoining railway quarters on either side of flyover at Kazipet.
The officials explained that by developing the land at above places the parking problem could be addressed.
Efforts would also be made to explore additional parking spaces to ease congestion on main roads. Traffic ACP SM Surendranath and others were present.
