​Bhadrachalam: Telangana TDP president L Ramana honoured noted trade union leader Potu Ranga Rao with NTR Karmika Ratna Award at a programme held at TDP office on Monday in Hyderabad in connection with May Day celebrations, according to a press release from TDP office here.

He lauded the services rendered by Ranga Rao to the trade union movement, it was stated. He said the credit of ensuring victory of the TNTUC five times as the ITC PSPD Bhadrachalam trade union leader goes to Ranga Rao.

He was also instrumental in getting the fourth wage agreement successfully implemented to the delight of the workers. He was the recipient of Shramshakti Award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2002.

Ranga Rao was TNTUC state committee member from 2006 to 2016, when he was elevated to the post of its general secretary.

A jubilant Rao on winning the award, vowed to work for development of workers. TDP leaders Peddireddy and Ravula Chandrasekhara Reddy, TNTUC state committee president BN Reddy, TNTUC leaders Chava Maheswara Rao, Nalla Nagabushayya, Hari Prasad, Jeevan Reddy, Kesupaka Narasimha Rao and MD Basharad and others attended the function.
