Mancherial: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao directed District Collector R V Karnan to take action against DRDA, Field Assistant, APM and Secretary for failing to implement Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

He inspected the MGNREGS works at Narasingapur in Jaipur mandal of Chennur constituency on Wednesday. He expressed anger over the officials concerned for not implementing the works even after having sufficient funds.

Later, he attended Grama Jyothi programme at Venkatraopeta in Luxettipet mandal. He inaugurated gram panchayat building at Madhapur in Dandepalli mandal.

The Minister held a review meeting on MGNREGS and poverty eradication at Padmavati Gardens in Vempalli.

He called upon the officials concerned and people’s representatives to provide 100 days of work in a year for all those seeking work. “General body meeting should be conducted for every 15 days,” he added.

Government Whip Nallala Odelu, leaders N Diwakar Rao, D Chinnaiah, MPP B Satyanarayana, ZPTC member Asha Latha, mandal development officials, sarpanches, Women Selfhelp Groups members and others were present.
