Khammam: The leaders of Left parties demanded a probe into the market yard affairs especially in regard with the chilli purchases. In a joint meeting organized here on Wednesday, the leaders alleged that traders supported by TRS government looted the farmers by lowering the chilli prices.

The leaders who discussed at length about taking the agitation to next level said that Chamber of Commerce in connivance with the ruling party leaders and traders adopted coercive measures creating a fear among the chilli growers to go for distress sale.

Referring to the ransacking of the market yard in the April 28 incident, the leaders expressed doubts over market forces about the extensive damage done to computers belonging to e-NAM. The traders who were opposing the e-NAM system might have damaged the computers and other furniture, the leaders alleged.

The leaders demanded an inquiry into the incident by a sitting judge. The leaders decided to visit the market yard on Thursday.

Bagam Hemanth Rao of CPI, Ponnam Venkateswara Rao of CPM, Potu Ranga Rao of CPI-ML New Democracy, Koleti Nageswara Rao, Nunna Nageswara Rao, Potu Prasad, Sk Janimiya, Mekala Srinivas Rao, Rayala Chandrasekhar, Avula Venkateswarlu and Yerra Srikanth were among others present.
