Khammam: All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) national vice-president Sarampalli Malla Reddy alleged that both the State and Central governments were helping the multinational companies that purchase agricultural goods.

Speaking at the District Telangana Rythu Sangham meeting, held under the leadership of the district president Bandi Ramesh, here at Sundaraiah Bhavan in Khammam on Thursday, Reddy alleged that due to closing of government purchasing centres across the country, about six multinational companies were purchasing the agricultural products due to which the farmers were unable to get minimum support price for their produce.

Both the State and Central governments are blaming one another for not fixing the MSP and deceiving the poor and innocent farmers, he criticised, adding that MSP of Rs 5,000 for chilli was not enough as the farmers have invested huge amount of money.

“Both the governments are intentionally playing gimmicks to deceive farmers in order to help multinational companies,” he alleged.
