​Nalgonda: State SC Corporation Chairman Pidamarthi Ravi informed that government was taking all measures to distribute one lakh acres to landless SCs.

On Thursday, Ravi visited the office of the SC Development department in Nalgonda. Later speaking to media, he stated that land distribution programme was a continuous process and informed that so far, with an estimated cost of 425.59 crore, 10,074.52 acres was distributed to 3,826 eligible SCs in the State. “Plans are afoot to distribute as many as 7,500 acres to poor SCs on State Formation Day, June 2,” he said.

He further informed that in Nalgonda, 173 acres were distributed. Of the district target of 363 acres, 311.26 acres, with an estimated cost of 1,431.139 lakh, were distributed to 133 families in the district. Of the distributed land, 121.02 acres was registered to 43 families, he added.

“Department is trying their level best to purchase required 173 acres from private persons but nobody is coming forward after the announcement of free fertiliser scheme to farmers by the State government, he said.

In 2015-16 annual plan of SC development department, as many as 1,452 units were sanctioned to unemployed SCs under self employment scheme. In 2016-17, 2,493 units were sanctioned, of them subsidy was released to 2,304 units, he informed.

Also, grounding of units would be carried out this year for the annual plan of 2017-18, he added. SC Development Officer Narottama Reddy, ASWO Eshwariah and others accompanied Ravi during his tour.
