Karimnagar: Free anaemia health check-up would be conducted for the students studying in government schools to get rid-off anaemia with the slogan of ‘Anaemia Free India’, informed Dr B N Rao, the Founder of Dr B N Rao Health Foundation.

Speaking to the media at IMA Hall here on Friday, Dr B N Rao said that in the first phase of health check-up blood test will be held to about 22,000 students studying in government schools across Karimnagar district.

After observing the results of blood tests, the students who have less than 10 per cent of haemoglobin in their blood, would be included under anaemia group and would be given iron tablets along with balanced diet freely.

For every three months, blood test would be conducted to those who have less than 10 per cent of haemoglobin in their blood and required treatment will be given until the percentage of haemoglobin reaches normal level, he added.

B N Rao also informed that a committee is formed with other doctors for successful organisation of free anaemia health check-up programme to make the district anaemic-free. Dr Aleem, Dr Pullela Pavan, senior doctor Dr Madhusudhan Rao and Dr Jhansi were present in the press meet.
