Khammam: In order to help farmers get maximum yield, the state government has introduced ‘Mana Telangana- Mana Vyavasayam’ programme to create awareness among farmers about the modern and alternate methods of cultivation, said District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar.

The Collector inaugurated the publicity vehicle of ‘Mana Telangana- Mana Vyavasayam’ programme along with releasing the posters and pamphlets, here at District Agriculture Office in Khammam on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said as part of the programme, agricultural officers along with officials of department concerned would visit every village from May 5 to May 16.

The officials will create awareness among farmers about the crops that need to be raised to get maximum yield depending on the type of soil present in their fields, apart from using new techniques of cultivation.

The Collector ordered the officials to take necessary steps to contain the fake seed menace apart from conducting soil tests and issuing of soil health cards to the farmers.

District Agriculture Officer A Jhansi Lakshmi Kumari, Special Officer Shyam Sunder Reddy, Project Director of ATMA Vijay Nirmala, Horticulture Officer R Srinivas Rao, District Health Officer Srinivas Rao, Fisheries Development Officer Anjaneyulu and Executive Engineer of Irrigation Department Narasimha Rao were present along with others.
