Make Nalgonda open defecation-free by 2018
Stating that Nalgonda district has to be become open defecation-free by the end of 2018, District Collector Gaurav Uppal directed the officials to create awareness among the villagers over the construction of personal toilets.

Speaking at an awareness meeting on Swachh Bharat and AIDS control at ZP Meeting Hall in Nalgonda on Tuesday, he stated that all mandal-level officials must work collectively to implement the government welfare programmes effectively.
Directing the officials to monitor the works of Mission Bhagiratha regularly in order to complete the tasks as per the schedule, he asked them to create awareness among public on AIDS and give preference to AIDS patients in welfare schemes. “Do not ignore them at any cost,” he added.
Asking to pay personal attention in sanctioning of sheep units, Uppal directed the officials concerned to intensify the new membership drive in existing sheep rearing co-operative societies and for the formation of new societies.
“Yadava community youth who attained 18 years of age are eligible to take membership in the societies,” he informed. As per the guidelines, the beneficiary has to bear Rs 31,750 (25%) and remaining Rs 98,750 (75%) would be provided as subsidy.
He further added that half of the members of the societies would get the benefit of the scheme this year and rest would be benefitted next year.
As the government decided to provide pension of Rs 1,000 to women who are living alone, he directed the officials to take applications from the respective women at all Gram Panchayats from May 8 to 13.
In Municipal limits, applicants can apply through Mee Seva centres. Final list of the eligible candidates must be uploaded at Aasara website between May 23 and 25 and on orders will be issued personally on May 26 and 27, he added.
ZP CEO Hanuman Naik, JD Animal Husbandry Dr Narsimhulu, DRDO Anjaiah, RWS EE Paparao, Swachh Bharat officials Karan Chakravarthi, Sharath, AIDS Controller Officer Sudhakar and MPDO attended the meeting.
