Programme on ill-effects of Gudumba held
Officials of district Excise department conducted a programme on the ill-effects of Gudumba at Vailapalli, Porlagadda and Marribai Thandas on Friday.
Naryanapuram: Officials of district Excise department conducted a programme on the ill-effects of Gudumba at Vailapalli, Porlagadda and Marribai Thandas on Friday.
As part of the programme, artistes performed to songs that focus on ill-effects of the illicitly brewed liquor.
Speaking on the occasion, district Excise Superintendent Krishna Priya said preparation and selling of Gudumba was illegal and punishable as per the law.
She advised them to give up. Later, officials administered an oath to women that they would not entertain production, sale and consumption of Gudumba in their villages at any cost.
Excise CIs Kanakadurga and Rajeshwar Rao, SIs Krishnaiah Goud and Satyanarayana, Vailapalli Sarpanch Devaiah and villagers participated in the programme.
