Excerpts
This is yet another reality show in the non-fiction space is this a conscious decision.
It is not a conscious decision; it is just my happy space. I think non-fiction is my space. It is exciting and unpredictable and I am exactly like that.
‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ was offered to you in the past, why participate now?
KKK was offered twice to me in the past but the only reason I couldn’t do it as I had other professional commitments. This year around, the timings worked and I haven’t signed on anything new. So my current schedule allowed me to finally take this up.
Apparently, Ravi Dubey and Karan Wahi are also participating in this season. How does it feel to be competing with your friends? Who will be your toughest competitor on the show?
I haven’t really thought about competition. Rather I’m glad that we’re in it together. It definitely is going to be fantastic and exciting with the boys. We don’t really know what’s in store for us once the competition kicks in. I’m sure we’re going to motivate each other to do our best and stay as we are.
Did you, specifically, change your diet or fitness routine before you start shooting for ‘Khatron…’?
Not really, I did nothing specific for the show. But in general, I like being fit. I’ve always believed that fitness is a lifestyle. But I sure have made a few dietary changes and increased the duration of my workout. This show is about physical and mental fitness so you have to train your body a certain way for the upcoming months.
You recently joined gymnastics, has that decision been for ‘Khatron…’?
‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ happened much later, I had already started to train in gymnastics earlier. It is important for you to know new things in life and actually, I am in love with this new form of fitness. To be honest, nowadays it is an integral part of action scenes and our dance moves. It is nice to be able to control your body in a way nobody does. If you’re good at that kind of body control, you can enhance your action sequences, dance moves, etc. The gym gets really boring sometimes so after a point and time, what do you do if you don’t feel like going to the gym? Do something that you enjoy.
If you’ve seen the recent seasons of the show, do you dread doing any task? Do you have any phobia?
I fear of heights, free fall actually. But I’m sure in the course of competition; I’m going to do it anyway. I’m always up for something that I can’t think I can do and eventually end up doing it anyway. That’s a different high.
