Platonic has two distinct meanings. Platonic means concerning to Plato the Greek philosopher, referring to his teachings, or philosophical expositions, and his influence on philosophy and ethical matters. Plato is an ancient Greek philosopher: student of Socrates but the teacher of Aristotle.Platonic also refers to love, and to friendship between to two people. Platonic love or friendship is a close and deep relationship between two people but not sexual. People in platonic love or platonic friendship nurture their relations for decades and often lasts until they go to their graves.

Platonic love is the love of a person for another person though he or she would have got married to someone else. In platonic relationships, there is a non-sexual friendship between heterosexuals. The platonic love is the love that is chaste, passionate and flourishes on the restraint of sexual desire. In platonic relations the love is restricted to theorizing without any action. When referring to platonic love and Platonic concepts, the latter with capital ‘P’ refers to the philosopher Plato. Platonically is an adverb. They loved platonically.

Platonism refers to the central features of Plato’s philosophy such as the bodily separability and the immortality of soul. A person studying Platonism is a Platonist.Pluto is a heavenly body. Once it was classified as a planet but it lost its status as a Pluto but there is a proposal among the scientists to give a new definition to planet and if it happens, Pluto will retain its planetary status. Plutocracy is a form of government run a rich and powerful class of people.

Plutocracy is a state government by wealthy people. Because wealthy people (corporates) back or support the government either directly or indirectly. Is the USA a plutocratic state? Plutonic refers to the igneous rocks formed by solidification in the depth of earth’s surface, rock formations as a result of solidification of magma – plutonic rock.
Granite is a plutonic rock. Pluto also refers to the underworld or the god Pluto.
