Hanamkonda: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) State general secretary Sitakka said that KCR government was worse than monarchy. Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday, she said that by using suppressive measures the government was stifling the voice of people.

"Dharna chowk is the place from where people have been airing their grievances for many decades. The TRS is well aware of this fact as it staged many a protest during the statehood movement. Now the same party is trying to shift the Dharna Chowk from Indira Park to outskirts of the city," Sitakka said.

Stating that the government had deliberately encouraged a group of people and making them demand for relocation of Dharna Chowk to create differences, Sitakka said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is no different from British rulers, who adopted he policy of ‘divide and rule’.

She found fault with the government for allowing two groups – one for relocation of Dharna Chowk and the other for opposing – to stage protest on the same day.

“Police in the guise of locals carried protest for the relocation of Dharna Chowk,” she alleged, holding KCR for the chaotic situation at Indira Park in which several people sustained injuries.

If KCR thinks that his government will survive by suppressing the voice of the Opposition, it’s an illusion and he will pay for it, she warned.

Referring to the handcuffing of tribal farmers in connection with the cases of ransacking of Khammam market yard, Sitakka said that Governor ESL Narasimhan, who should have safeguarded the rights of Adivasis is mum over the issue.

While KCR is making rounds around Governor ESL Narasimhan, the latter is busy with visiting temples, she added. Bhupalpally district convener Gandra Satyanarayana Rao said that KCR is behaving like Hitler and trampling on the rights of Opposition parties.

Referring to the irregularities in Yantra Laxmi scheme, Rao alleged that the TRS government by violating the norms allocated all the 12 tractors sanctioned under the scheme to its cadres. Under the scheme, the government will give 50 per cent subsidy.

District general secretary Pullur Ashok Kumar, BC Cell Urban district president Gollapally Eashwara Chary, Ghanpur in-charge Tallapally Jayapal, Hanamkonda Sambaiah, Chada Raghunath Reddy, Md Raheem, Margam Sarangam and Rachakonda Rajagopal were among others present.
