Keep check on illegal mining: Collector Dr Preethi Meena
District Collector Dr Preethi Meena directed the officials concerned to keep check on illegal mining along with protecting human habitations in the surrounding areas. She chaired a meeting with the officials of Mining department and mine owners at the camp office in the Collectorate in Mahabubabad on Monday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said that necessary steps would be taken to provide all basic facilities to the people living in villages close to mining areas and developmental activities also would be taken up.
She advised mine owners to plant saplings under Haritha Haram programme in the surrounding areas where mining was being carried, following the suggestions of Forest officials. They were suggested to take precautionary measures to reduce sound pollution along with preventing damage that occurs in nearby villages due to blasting of mines and transporting the vehicles with heavy loads.
