Speed up construction of 2BHK houses: Puvvada

​Khammam: Local legislator Puvvada Ajay Kumar urged the District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar to speed up the construction works of double bedroom houses in the district.

The MLA met the District Collector here at Technical Training and Development Centre (TTDC) and discussed the progress of construction works of double bedroom houses in Khammam constituency.

Puvvada said of the 17 village panchayats that were selected for construction of houses, land pooling in 10 village panchayats has been completed.

He suggested the Collector to call for tenders and speed up the works apart from collecting land for the sanctioned 900 double bedroom houses in second phase at YSR Colony, Bhurvanpuram and at Kaikondaigudem of Dhamsalapuram.

The District Collector informed that MLA that the process of calling for tenders for the construction of about 1,600 houses, that were sanctioned under first phase, was completed. All measures were taken to mobilise funds for collection of land in Bhurvanpuram and Dhamsalapuram by spending money more than the existing market rate.

The Collector ordered the officials of Roads and Buildings, Integrated Tribal Development Authority and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to speed up the works that were left pending, and complete the works of double bedroom houses as early as possible.

District Revenue Officer Purna Chandra, Deputy Mayor Battula Murali, City Municipal Commissioner B Srinivas, Tahsildhar Sri Latha and the Executive Engineer of R&B were present along with other officials concerned.
