Warangal: The TRS government, which came to power through agitations, is now suppressing the Opposition parties, TDP national secretary Revuri Prakash Reddy said.

Addressing the cadres at Kasibugga here on Monday after launching party’s ‘Rythuku Sankellu’ Deeksha, he accused the ruling party of creating an emergency-like situation in the State.

“Instead of ensuring remunerative price to chilli, the TRS government is stifling the voice of the Opposition parties for raising farmers’ issues,” Reddy said, referring to the criminal cases slapped against hapless farmers and Sathupalli TDP MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah.

People of the State, who had supported separate statehood movement, will not spare the TRS government for its alleged anti-people policies, he said, demanding an unconditional apology from the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, for foisting false cases against chilli farmers in Khammam.

“Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao, who claimed that those vandalised Khammam agriculture market yard were goondas, needs to answer whether they are really farmers or not.

If they are not farmers, why did he condemn when the police handcuffed the chilli farmers, he questioned.

Party State general secretary Eega Mallesham said that the TRS government, which came to power banking on agitations, is now suppressing the same.

Stating that KCR’s rule was similar to that of the Nizam in which common man suffered a lot, he accused the TRS government of bulldozing the democratic rights of the people.

Senior leaders Vem Narender Reddy and Pullur Ashok were present in the protest in which scores of TDP cadres attended.
