Local legislator Jalagam Venkat Rao on Tuesday performed Bhoomi Pooja for the 1,800 two-bedroom houses sanctioned to the district by the government. Speaking to media persons, he said the government was spending Rs 5.30 lakh towards construction of each house in the towns and Rs 5.03 lakh in villages.Â

District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu directed Panchayat Raj officials to complete construction works in time.
