District in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy participated in the Urban Day meeting with the officials of various departments at the Collectorate conference hall in Peddapalli on Wednesday.

Addressing at the officials, the in-charge Collector S Prabhakar Reddy said that there should be minimum 10 feet distance on either side of Rajiv highway as per the rule. He asked the officials to prepare the list of the persons, who encroached the road and take steps to remove them after giving notices.

He directed the officials to organise a meeting and collect the resolutions from surrounding village panchayats for upgrading the Peddapalli city panchayat to municipality.

The in-charge Collector ordered the officials to take steps to construct toilets in Anthargam Kandhishikula quarters; to identify suitable place to establish a sports school; and to set up dumping yard at Andhugulapally and Kannal areas along with introducing road sweeping machines in Peddapalli, ULB and Ramagundam areas.

The officials were told to identify the real beneficiaries as per rules within a week along with issuing signed copies to single women for sanctioning pensions for April and May months.

He suggested removal of electrical wires that were hanging over the houses keeping in view of sudden rains with heavy winds to prevent any untoward incidents. Following IT Minister K T Rama Rao’s request, NTPC officials took initiation to construct toilets in various government schools in Ramagundam.

Prabhakar Reddy ordered Ramagundam Municipal Commissioner to prepare the list of schools, which requires toilets and submit it as early as possible. Ramagundam Municipal Commissioner John Samson, District Superintendent of Police Vijayender Reddy and Rural Development Officer Ashok Kumar were present along with officials of various departments in the Urban Day meeting
